FOrever SPOTLIGHT: Meet Boba

 Our Lizard Chasing King

Boba has been part of our rescue family for nine long months, and we can’t believe he hasn’t been scooped up yet. This handsome dreamboat is the ultimate Frenchie package: full of quirks, charm, and a heart that’s just waiting to be loved. He’s learned to adapt around other dogs, though he really only clicks with submissive pups — and let’s just say he adores the ladies. Boba is potty trained, toy-obsessed, and has springs in his legs that let him jump higher than you’d expect. His funniest (and slightly gross) quirk? The second he poops, he thinks it’s snack time, so you have to be quick on cleanup duty! But even with his classic Frenchie issues, he’s nothing short of a lovable goofball who will keep you laughing while stealing your heart. Nine months is far too long for this lizard-chasing king to wait — he deserves his forever throne.

Fostering Saves Lives

Foster Requirements – Please Read Before Applying

  • Must be able to travel to our partnered vets located in East Mesa and North Phoenix for all medical appointments. (we are trying to find one in Tucson).
  • Must understand that we cannot guarantee or predict a dog’s personality, behavior, or temperament once they enter your home.
  • Must be able to separate foster dogs from your personal pets and follow the 3-3-3 decompression rule (3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn, 3 months to feel at home). This is standard could be longer. DO NOT PUT WITH YOUR DOG IMMEDIATELY.
  • Must attend rescue events with your foster dog when available to help increase their visibility and chance of adoption.
  • Must provide weekly updates to the rescue team, including any changes in behavior, appetite, potty habits, or health—positive or negative.
  • Must foster with zero expectations. These dogs come from unknown or difficult pasts and need patience, compassion, and understanding as they adjust. This is why they are in rescue.
  • Must be flexible and committed. Fostering isn’t always predictable, but it is life-changing—for you and the dog.
  • We are a mission-driven rescue focused solely on the wellbeing of the dogs in our care. We kindly ask that all fosters come into this with the same heart: putting the dog’s needs above all else and being a part of their healing journey. We are not here for peoples feelings and do our best to coordinate with your schedule.

Mo continued to see the breed she loved & adored on Facebook in shelters and in need of help In SoCal. She knew living so close, she couldn't stand by and not try and help. With her past of being denied by other rescues because of high maintenance standards, she dove in with drive and determination and found many in the community who were gracious and got hands-on training knowledge both with rescue/adoption. This brought her love for the breed and the over population with medical needs to life. She was destined to have Freedom Frenchie Rescue: giving French bulldogs a second chance no matter what the situation is, and not to be overlooked like she was. She knew she could provide the difference alongside her two children helping along the way, giving everyone a chance to love this beloved breed. "I want to bring the community together and educate people on this breed. There is to much out there on French bulldogs that is just not accurate information."

October: Sponsor A Frenchie

Meet Cheech

October Sponsor of the Month: We raised $150.00 for Cheech we are continuing because we still owe our vet 5g...

Cheech is a goofy, ball-obsessed Frenchie who thinks life is all about fetch… and honestly, he might not be wrong! This little guy would chase his ball 24/7 if we let him, but right now he’s preparing for something much bigger—TECA surgery (Total Ear Canal Ablation). Yes, another one of our Freedom Squad members needing this life-changing procedure.

The estimated cost for Cheech’s surgery is $5,000, depending on how deep the infection and buildup are once our veterinary specialist gets inside his ear canal. This surgery will finally give him relief from years of discomfort and allow him to live the full, happy life he deserves—ball in mouth, tail wiggling, and surrounded by love.

We can’t keep saving medical-needs dogs like Cheech without the support of our incredible village. Every donation helps—big or small. If you’d like to be an angel donor for Cheech, please email us at FreedomFrenchieRescue@gmail.com and we’ll provide our veterinarian’s contact information for full transparency.

Together, we can give Cheech his chance to thrive and keep obsessing over the one thing that makes him happiest—his ball!

We cannot do this alone anymore. Thank you for being a part of her village.
